International Business School of Geneva (IBSG)

International Business School of Geneva (IBSG) is an online business education provider offering professional MBA programmes for international learners.

Its advertised specialisations include finance, marketing, information technology, financial technology, and executive management.

The programmes are delivered entirely online, with flexible enrolment and self-paced study.

IBSG describes its educational model as focused on practical business knowledge and professional development.

Its terms and conditions state that successful students receive an MBA qualification issued by the school itself.

The school is operated by IBSG Limited, a company registered in England and Wales on 31 December 2025.

Its terms specify that the company operates the programmes under the International Business School of Geneva brand and that disputes are governed by the law of England and Wales.

The company registration establishes a legal business entity, but does not itself confer authority to award recognised higher education degrees.

IBSG lists several quality and professional affiliations, including the International Accreditation Council for Business Education (IACBE), the Association Genevoise d’Écoles Privées (AGEP), the Association of African Business Schools (AABS) and the Swiss eduQua quality label.

These forms of accreditation, membership and certification have different purposes and should not be treated as interchangeable.

A significant point requiring verification is IBSG’s claim of IACBE accreditation for its business programmes. I could not independently confirm this claim in the publicly available IACBE status information reviewed.

The school also does not appear on the published list of Swiss higher education institutions accredited under Switzerland’s Higher Education Act.

Switzerland requires institutional accreditation under its higher education legislation for institutions wishing to use legally protected designations such as “university”.

A Geneva-related name or private quality certification does not, on its own, establish Swiss university status.

Overall, IBSG offers a flexible online business education model, but its claims about accreditation and the formal status of its MBA qualifications warrant independent confirmation.

If you are considering enrolling, I recommend verifying the specific programme’s accreditation directly with the named accrediting body and obtaining written confirmation of the qualification’s recognition before paying tuition fees.
